Entertainment Alternatives in Fremont, CA

There is plenty to do in Fremont, California! The neighborhood of Niles has plenty of shopping available, especially in antiques and crafts. The annual antique fair and flea market is worth noting, taking place on the last Sunday of August each year. As early as Saturday morning, all of Niles turns out with things to sell, drawing in bargain hunters from the Bay Area and beyond. Also, Warm Springs has a large number of authentic Asian stores, due to the large Asian population of Mission San Jose.

If shopping is not your entertainment of choice, you are still not left without anything to do. The Niles Canyon Railway runs along Alameda Creek, and carries passengers on weekend excursions, including a holiday 'train of lights' which is extremely popular - tickets for these trains typically sell out by early October. The Niles Canyon Railroad has a small but well-maintained collection of historic rail stock. Scenic Niles Canyon stretches between Niles and Sunol, offering a peaceful and awe-inspiring way to spend an afternoon. The City of Fremont also has a wide variety of recreation available, including tennis, boating, camping, dance, fitness, gyms, golfing, hiking, skate parks, swimming, and much more!
